COLUMBUS: A donor has provided 1,200 meals to police in Ohio’s capital along with a card thanking them for keeping the city safe.
A police spokeswoman says delivery of the meals from a barbecue restaurant started Tuesday and continued Thursday at various locations in Columbus.
The meals have been delivered twice a day every day to try to ensure as many officers as possible get one. The Columbus police division employs nearly 1,900 officers.
Police aren’t publicly identifying whoever donated the meals. They say they’ve received gifts, posters and cards from other people since the fatal shootings of five police officers in Dallas this month.
