WARREN, OHIO: A 16-year-old Ohio boy accused of killing a 94-year-old neighbor has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and other charges.
A judge continued the teen’s $3 million bond during a hearing Tuesday in Warren. He also faces kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and attempted rape charges in the March 31 death of Marie Belcastro.
The Warren Tribune-Chronicle reports police found blood throughout Belcastro’s home in Niles, about 70 miles southeast of Cleveland. A coroner ruled Belcastro died from a blow to the head with a blunt instrument.
A judge earlier ruled the teen should be tried as an adult. He was released from a juvenile detention center the day of the slaying.
The teen’s attorney declined to comment Wednesday.
The Associated Press generally doesn’t name juveniles accused of crimes.
