It’s OK to see ‘Red’ at Weathervane

Red, a two-person play about artist Mark Rothko, opens at 7:30 p.m. at Weathervane Playhouse’s intimate Dietz Theater. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays, and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 5 and 12. Tickets are $22, $11 students at 330-836-2626, www.weathervaneplayhouse.com.

Choreographers’ Workshop at UA

The University of Akron is gaining a national reputation for choreography. Check out the Dance Program’s Choreographers’ Workshop at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday at Daum Theatre, Kolbe Hall, 328 Buchtel Commons, University of Akron. Tickets are $7, or $5 with the donation of two canned goods for the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. For tickets, call 330-972-7895.

Trick or treat at art museum

The Akron Art Museum hosts Trick or Treat on South High Street from 5 to 8 p.m. for kids of all ages, offering art-making, trick-or-treating in the galleries and a musical performance. Kids are encouraged to come in costume. The event is free for museum members and $10 per child for nonmembers. Orchestra to perform Prokofiev

The Cleveland Orchestra presents Suite from Romeo and Juliet and other works by Prokofiev at 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Severance Hall, 11001 Euclid Ave., Cleveland. Tickets are $49-$162 at www.clevelandorchestra.com.
