Ivory Thomas II pleaded guilty Friday morning to voluntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of his younger brother, Dion.
Thomas will be sentenced at 10:15 a.m. March 9 by Summit County Common Pleas Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands. He faces up to 11 years in prison.
Thomas, 25, was originally charged with murder for the Sept. 11, 2015 death of his brother. Dion Thomas, 20, was found lying on the lawn of the home he and Ivory shared with their mother in the 900 block of Palmetto Avenue in Akron.
Prosecutors say the two brothers argued and Ivory Thomas stabbed Dion in the neck. Ivory Thomas then fled and was arrested a few days later, according to a Summit County Prosecutor’s Office news release.
